Fw: Never Again ... What?

Working to ensure that Never Again remains more than a mere slogan

Never Again ... What?
by Marc Prowisor - Yesha News - April 11, 2010

Yom HaShoah, (Holocaust Memorial Day) is coming up and the shouts of "Never Again" flood the cyber waves. From all walks and talks of Jewish life Jews are raising their fists, their voices, their thoughts. Not just any particular group, but the whole spectrum of our people. Amazing, some unity!

Forgive me, but Never Again what? I read that we won't let our people be methodically slaughtered again, we won't let such a genocide take place again, against our own people.

Who exactly won't let this happen again?

If you are unable to see the image, click here.

I read, again from the whole spectrum of our tribe how now we have our land, our Jewish State, even a Jewish Army! I read and feel the pride our people, most of our people, are showing, and their determination to stop any such horror from happening again.

But what about stopping the process that may lead to the unthinkable?

That must be stopped first!

The enemies of the Jewish people realize very well who would put a stop to an attempt at destroying the Jewish people again.  They know very well the State and the People of Israel will stand up and fight them.

Our enemies know exactly whose commandoes will show up at their doorstep, and they know they will be speaking Hebrew, not English.

Why do you think Israel is the brunt of their attacks now?  Why do you think they want to take our land away from us? Our enemies know where Jewish strength comes from.

The Arabs and Muslims in the Middle East do not care about genocide.  You don't see any demonstration against the slaughter of Africans in Darfur, and you don't see shouts against the ongoing slaughter of Muslims against Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan. You don't see Muslims in America standing up against these atrocities, do you? Why is that?

Maybe they want Israel to disappear and the Jews to go back to the way it was 100 years ago.  Maybe they want the Jews to disappear all together.  Maybe.

Yom HaShoah closes in and you want to shout "Never Again."  Well shout it - but do something about it! Stop standing idly by on the sidelines just raising your fists.  Stop your friends and neighbors from joining ranks with those that want to destroy us and take away our land.  Stop letting people believe the lies about Israel and the (lack of) Peace process.

Start being involved and start taking action so that this process should not gain any more momentum.

We have lost enough people to violence, terror and ignorance. Let's really give some honor to those who were taken from us by standing up stronger than ever against those that wish us gone and taken from our land and our own midst.

Let's really give some honor to those that were taken from us... Let's expand on "Never Again."

"Never Again" ... will Jews be victims of violence and terror?

"Never Again" ... will Jews stand quietly by and be fooled by our enemies?

"Never Again" ... will Jews be evicted from their land?

NEVER AGAIN!

Each and every one who dares to say "Never Again" should be required to expand on that -- to fill in the looming blank.  If we don't really mean to accomplish it, then there's no point - might as well kick back the recliner and watch the game. But if we hope to actually accomplish something, something as huge as preventing the next holocaust, then we very much need to think in specifics. We need to look inside and figure out what it means... for us... now... to say "Never Again."  We need to fill in the blank.

Never Again ... WHAT?

"Humanity sympathizes with a strenuous aspiration.  It can't have respect for people who lack self respect."  Pierre Van Paassen - "The Forgotten Ally"

By Beth Gilinsky and Rabbi Aryeh Spero

We have been receiving numerous communications from the People of Israel expressing how demoralized and abandoned the Jewish People in Israel feel by the lack of any strong and meaningful statement and vigorous, public demonstrations sponsored by any of the major and established Jewish organizations in support of Israel's position regarding Jerusalem.

They feel that the treatment of Israel during the last three weeks by President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and spokesmen for the Administration has been an unprecedented humiliation of the Jewish State and a willful isolation of it among the community of nations.

In addition, they are alarmed at the silence of the Jewish community in light of how the Obama Administration has been making statements and taking measures that everyone knows give license for the Arab population within Israel and on its borders to renew intifada and rioting that will severely harm the individual Israeli, as is already being done.

Furthermore, the brazen and humiliating way in which the Prime Minister of Israel, the de facto representative of the entire Jewish People, was treated by the entire staff of the White House in front of all the eyes of the world should not be tolerated.  It is encouraging other Western countries, as well as Arab countries, to treat Israel as a diplomatic pariah and even question Israel's legitimacy as a state itself.

The Israeli People are not looking for yet another statement from the establishment Jewish community as to how we are in favor of a peace process, a "two-state solution", or that the last three weeks of humiliation "disrupts" further peace negotiations.  What they are looking for, and what the establishment Jewish organizations should do, is to express their outrage at the mistreatment and humiliation of the Jewish State and attempts to portray the Jewish State as being the sole entity blocking a successful War on Terror.  This is reminiscent of previous blood libels throughout history, where the Jewish People have been accused that their existence, rituals, or means of survival has been the cause for the loss of Muslim or Christian life.

The Jewish world is awaiting your affirmation that the entire city of Jerusalem must continue to be under Jewish sovereignty and is Israel's eternal, united capital, and that Jews not be specifically outlawed from building and living in all of its neighborhoods.

Furthermore, it is apparent that the Obama Administration, from the President to Mrs. Clinton, to David Axelrod, and the President's spokesmen are engaging in an attempt to overturn the will of the Israeli People who voted for the current Prime Minister and his coalition partners. They view it -- and rightly so -- as a belittlement not only to their sovereignty, but also to their right to determine who their leaders should be.

On so many fronts, the past three weeks have been an absolute and unwarranted, yet purposeful, humiliation of the Jewish People and the State of Israel.  We would expect that the establishment Jewish organizations and leaders would have the courage to stand up, with pride, for the Jewish People and its state.  Instead, we are witnessing a silence that conveys the message that the leadership of the Jewish community is more interested in being friends with the Administration than doing its duty by announcing to the world that this cannot be tolerated.  We look for the Jewish organizations and its leaders to speak Truth to Power.

The silence of the established Jewish organizations on this matter, in contrast to the outspokenness from J Street, has elevated and allowed J Street to become the most visible and prominent organization speaking out about these issues within the Jewish community.  No doubt, many of our leaders are working behind the scenes to repair the rupture of the last three weeks.  In this case, however, that is simply not enough and evades the real issue.  The world at large has seen a public humiliation and rebuke of the State of Israel go unanswered. Unless it sees a profoundly public rebuke of such treatment, it will assume that such humiliating treatment of Jews and the Jewish State are now acceptable and de rigueur.

The World must hear.  The World must see.  It takes little courage to meet with other leaders behind closed doors. The courage that is needed now is one where the world sees that Israel, its representatives and the Jewish People cannot tolerate that which no other nation or community would tolerate.  Failure to do so openly and in public will guarantee that this will happen again, even if this particular crisis is "smoothed out."

Leaders are not simply men and women who work behind the scenes. Leaders of a community are those who have enough conviction and pride in the profile of their community that they boldly, with enthusiasm, defend their People when unjustly humiliated. Doing so stops the slide of demoralization in its people and restores their confidence in themselves as a People, a people with a legitimate destiny. The American Jewish Community expects that type of leadership from those who claim to be its leaders.

Write to your local paper  about how a Palestinian West Bank (Yehuda veShomron, in Hebrew) will mean, for the Arab nation, only a 20th state. For the Jews, it may mean the end of the ONLY state the Jews have -- due to the extreme proximity between the West Bank and Israel's population centers.

URGENT ACTION ALERT End U.S. pressure to delegitimize Israeli sovereignty

URGENT ACTION ALERT - End U.S. pressure to delegitimize Israeli sovereignty.

Dear Action Alert Responder,

UCI asks you to sign this Urgent Action Alert to President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton and other US and Israeli officials. The United States pressure to delegitimize Israel's sovereignty over their archeological and holy sites must not continue.

We ask that you read the letter shown below carefully and if you agree with it, please sign and post to your social network.  Here's a short URL for your convenience - http://uc4i.org/a

You have the ability to change any wording or make any additions that you would like. Click here to send now.

President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton,

I respectfully urge you to speak out for Israel's sovereign rights in regard to land usage in their own country.

The UN, Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Fatah and Hamas have all weighed in against Israel having asserted sovereignty in Judea over two ancient Biblical sites - Hebron's Machpelah Cave of the Patriarchs and the Bethlehem burial site of Matriarch Rachel.

Hebron community spokesman, Noam Arnon, noted that the Patriarchs' Cave "was a Jewish site thousands of years before Islam ever existed." The Torah testifies to the authenticity of Israel's claim to ancient heritage in Judea. Yet State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the U.S. administration views the move as "provocative." He said it was unhelpful to the goal of getting the two sides back to the negotiating table. Furthermore, Prime Minister Netanyahu has been simultaneously pressured by the US to accept 68 illeg! al Arab homes, legalizing them even though they are built on important archeological findings.

It is untenable that Israel's simple action of wanting to retain two small Biblical sites within their sovereign control is being labeled "provocative", while 68 illegal Arab home sites defy legal restrictions and are granted retroactive legal status because of pressure from the US President and the State Department.

Please make it clear to the world that the US backs Israel's right to sovereignty over these two extremely important domestic Israeli issues:

1- their right of sovereignty over ancient Jewish sites located in Judea

2- their right of sovereignty over 68 illegally built Arab homes, which also infringe on their right to control treasured archeological artifacts.

Why does the United States interfere in the domestic affairs of a sovereign democratic ally? The US State Department has encouraged Arabs to go to battle over what should be a non-issue. It is apparent that Israel has legitimate claims and sovereignty over their religious sites.

If the Palestinians really want to show good faith toward a peace agreement, this would be the perfect time. And, instead of fostering antagonistic demands, the US State Department should stop delegitimizing Israel's sovereignty rights and trivializing their ancient religious sites.

I believe that all of the threats of genocide against Israel by leaders of the Middle East are far move "provocative" in spoiling any real chance for "peace." They should be condemned and become a priority issue of our government rather than our continuing to make unreasonable territorial demands of Israel.

The question remains: will the US begin to support Israel, our only democratic ally in the Middle East?

We must demonstrate our support and stop wrongly forcing Israel to relinquish their irreplaceable territory to their sworn enemies, receiving only threats of genocide in return.

Respectfully,

Why Palestinians Riot Over Jewish Heritage Sites
Moshe Dann

Frontpagemag.com, March 03, 2010

Last week saw an upsurge in Palestinian riots and attacks against Israeli vehicles in Gaza and the West Bank. What crime did Israel commit to invite the wave of violence? Israel's government simply announced that it intended to honor the country's heritage by including the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, and Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem in a list of Israeli national "heritage" sites.

The violence-fueled Palestinian reaction may seem entirely disproportionate to Israel's offense. But a look at the historical background shows that it is not without grim precedent...

America, the last man standing

scroll down to unsubscribe

THIS SPEECH CLEARLY SHOWS OUR SITUATION IN THE EUROPEAN WORLD.....WELL WORTH READING

Geert Wilders is a Dutch Member of Parliament.

"America, the last man standing"

'In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe ?'

Here is the speech of Geert Wilders, Chairman, Party for Freedom, the Netherlands , at the Four Seasons, New York , introducing an Alliance of Patriots and announcing the Facing Jihad Conference in Jerusalem .

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission.  All is not well in the old world.  There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic.  We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe .  This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West.  The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe .

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe .  Then, I will say a few things about Islam.  To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem .

The Europe you know is changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks.  But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world.  It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighbourhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen.  And if they are, they might regret it.  This goes for the police as well.  It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children.  Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead.  With mosques on many street corners.  The shops have signs you and I cannot read.  You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity.
These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics.  These are Muslim neighbourhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe .  These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe .  With larger congregations than there are in churches.  And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region.  Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden .  In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim.  Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighbourhoods.  Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils.  In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims.
Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'.  Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin .  The history of th e Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.

In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighbourhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves.
Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II.  French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya, Israel .  I could go on forever with stories like this.  Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe .  San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now.  Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers.  And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate.  But there are few signs of that.  The Pew Research Centre reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France .  One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks.  The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favour of a worldwide caliphate.  Muslims demand what they call 'respect'.  And this is how we give them respect.  We have Muslim official state holidays.

The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority.  We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey .

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behaviour, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots.  Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus.  I call the perpetrators 'settlers'.  Because that is what they are.  They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam.  Therefore, they are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighbourhoods, their cities, their countries.  Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.

The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet.
His behaviour is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized.  Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem.  But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a paedophile, and had several marriages - at the same time.  Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed.  Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza.  If it is good for Islam, it is good.  If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion.  Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins.  But in its essence Islam is a political ideology.
It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person.  Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life.  Islam means 'submission'.  Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia.  If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran.  The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor.  I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times.  I support Israel .  First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defence.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance.  Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines, Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan, Lebanon, and Aceh in Indonesia .  Israel is simply in the way.  The same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel .  It is a war against the West.  It is jihad.  Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us.  If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest.
Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favour of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities.  But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West. It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behaviour, and accept our values.  On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam.  They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed.  The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning.  It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination.  If they can get Israel , they can get everything.
So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'.  In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II.  And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat.  Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing.  The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine.  An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs.  With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem .

Dear friends,
liberty is the most precious of gifts.  My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives.  All throughout Europe , American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish.  My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians.  We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's children in the same state, in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams.  Future generations would never forgive us.  We cannot squander our liberties.  We simply do not have the right to do so.  We have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from destroying the free world, that we know.

Please take the time to read and understand what is written here. Please send it to every free person that you know, it is so very important.

Also, US4Israel asks that you please write to Israel's Prime Minister  bnetanyahu@knesset.gov.il;   and tell him you will stand by him if he firmly rejects the periodic initiatives to set up yet another Islamic state -- this one situated so close to Tel-Aviv that it will endanger the only Jewish state in the world.

Fw: Building Freeze - Message from an Israeli Mayor

scroll down to unsubscribe

From: Saul Goldman

Dear Friends,
Please read the letter below from Ron Nachman, the mayor of Ariel a so-called "illegal settlement".  Throughout history various agencies from the Church to the German Government de-legitimized and dis-enfranchised Jews. Today the movement to invalidate our identity and claims to our own land are being led by Barak Obama. Please resist such an effort by writing and calling your legislators and by showing your support for cities like Ariel. I do not believe that the United States is represented by Obama's policies. Our country was forged out of a Biblical vision of liberty and justice.  In the words of the colonial preacher, Amiel Abbott, we are the American Israel. Do not let America fall to a corrupting ideology that would alienate Americans from Israelis because some in Washington confuse the peace of justice with the peace of surrender and accomodation.

The Building Freeze
December 10, 2009
Dear Rabbi Saul,

On Friday afternoon at 3:00pm, just one hour before Shabbat, I received a call from an Israeli Defense Forces officer. He came to bring me the building freeze orders.

What had been presented as a government statement, to be implemented at a reasonable pace and with sufficient warning, was all of a sudden propelled into immediate and heavy handed motion.

Young families, who took out mortgages to buy homes that were under construction will no longer be able to afford their payments, now that the entry date to their new homes has been pushed off by 10 months.

The Netzarim community, which resides in Ariel since the 2005 Disengagement from Gush Katif, has finally received the necessary licenses and permits to begin building a neighborhood of 100 homes in Ariel. The building freeze stops them in their tracks, leaving them in their trailers and shipping containers for yet another 10 months.

Businesses that chose to invest in the region and build their factories in Ariel's Industrial Zone are set back 10 months, paralyzing their marketing programs and threatening them with economic collapse.

Unfortunately, the aggressive implementation of the freeze has grossly oversimplified a complex issue. Even the environment is at risk, with concerns that Ariel's connection to the Dan Region Wastewater Treatment Plant may be postponed, or that its budget may be routed elsewhere for lack of progress on the long awaited project.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has succumbed to extreme and relentless pressure from the Obama administration and from Europe. I met with him last week, along with other representatives from Samaria and Judea. He explained that the 10 month building freeze throughout Judea and Samaria is a gesture to the international community, indicating that Israel is willing to take practical steps towards a so-called "peace" arrangement. Though he has not personally changed his belief system, he has initiated an unbearable situation with far reaching implications.

The City of Ariel, along with 14 other cities and regional councils, has issued a claim against the government's recent actions. The Supreme Court responded that it will address the case in the coming days.

We have been frozen in the past, but we have always persevered.
In 1980 Prime Minister begin froze us for 3 months, but that didn't stop us.
In 1992 Prime Minister Rabin froze us for 4 years. There have been many long term affects to that policy, but Ariel remains an undeniable reality.

Notwithstanding our strength, we need to understand the threatening nature of this building freeze. It means that we can't absorb new immigrants, because we can't build new homes. It means that we can't attract young couples to Ariel, resulting in kindergartens closing and schools shrinking. It means that people don't know what to expect from day to day, or what their community will look like a year from now.

No less harmful than the freeze are the government's budget cutbacks. Funding that went to Ariel as a national developmental priority has been discontinued. The repercussions are felt in the city's Department of Education, Social Services, Youth Department and in private households. Families who receive a 90% discount on childcare and nursery school are now required to pay 100% of the required tuition. No grants are given for young families to purchase homes in Ariel. No incentives are given to educators to come and teach in Ariel.

Peace will not emerge from this building freeze, just as no good has emerged from the previous so-called peace initiatives, beginning with the 1993 Oslo Accords.  This building freeze is yet another Israeli gesture towards an unwilling group of Palestinians. In the meantime, it causes unnecessary hardships to the people of Samaria and Judea, and it serves to delegitimize future attempts at creating some form of peace in the eyes of the Israeli people.

What will emerge is a strong Ariel. Without a strong Samaria the State of Israel cannot survive. Without a strong Ariel there would be no Samaria. The geo-political situation in Israel continues to become increasingly more obvious to Israelis and even to the Western World. The City of Ariel will continue to provide jobs for our Arab neighbors. We will continue to provide them with water and electricity. We will continue to contribute to a meaningful and lasting peace in the region. After all is said and done it is our commitment to progress and to peace that will prevail.

Sincerely,
Ron Nachman
Mayor of Ariel

Fw: Action Alert - Please congratulate Prime Minister Netanyahu on his speech.

Dear friends of Israel,

Please consider clicking below to write to US and Israel leaders, but before you go on, "scoop up" the following paragraph with your mouse, and consider pasting it into the recommended letter below. It provides balance that is very important for Israel's Prime Minister to have, and can go right after the first paragraph of the recommended letter below:

PARAGRAPH TO ADD TO THE LETTER BELOW:
Mr. Netanyahu, Your speech contained some sections I would not expect an Israeli Prime Minister to endorse or utter. First, I do not think that it is wise for you to stand before us endorsing  "two states for two people" nor do Israeli polls as a whole support the assertion that this is a majority view in Israel; the Palestinian Arabs, after all, do have a viable state esablished especially for them in Jordan last century, whereas Israel, the only state possessed by the Jewish people, will no longer be viable if a new Arab state is set up just a bike-ride away from Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and Ben-Gurion airport. Firm opposition to a Palestinian state was therefore a hallmark of both of Israel's famous Nobel Peace laureates Menachem Begin and Yizhak Rabin, and is expected from you as well. Furthermore, it is not wise to rush to sign a peace treaty with the Palestinian Arabs, particularly not until they are mature enough to accept the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria in a neighborly way -- as Israelis accept their Arab neighbors. Finally, "no Israeli government has been so willing to restrain settlement activity" is an offensive statement  accurately describing an extremely offensive policy. All Israelis have the right to build homes, schools, health clinics, farms and industries.

Unity Coalition for Israel

netanyahuThis Urgent Action Alert congratulates Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on his brilliant speech this November 9th, 2009. We hope it will encourage him to stand strong for Israel's sovereignty and security.

A video of his speech, delivered at the Jewish Federation General Assembly meeting can be seen here - 30 minutes.

The transcript is also available here.

A sample letter is shown below. You can send it "as is" or modify it as you would like. Click here to send now. Copies will be sent to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton and select Members of the Knesset and the Israeli Consulates in the US and in Israel.

The letter you will send to Prime Minister Netanyahu reads as follows:

Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu,

I have been deeply inspired by your November 9 speech before the Jewish Federation General Assembly. I commend you for the positive message about Israel you have brought to the entire world.

Not only did you mention Israel's past achievements and commitment to the future in all fields of scientific, religious and humanitarian endeavors, but you clearly articulated the geopolitical and other necessary security measures that Israel needs to survive. And you outlined the stark contrast in approach between Israel and that of her enemies in pursuing a peaceful Middle East. You described the type of life that could emerge if Israel had a partner, committed to peace, with whom to negotiate.

As you stated in your speech, "any peace agreement we sign today must include ironclad security measures that will protect the State of Israel." This is particularly critical given the recent Israeli capture of Iran's shipments to Hezbollah on the Francop freighter, filled with 500 tons of Iranian arms, as well as the Iran-supplied Hamas rockets that can reach 37 miles, potentially destroying Tel Aviv.

I am very disappointed that one day following your fine speech, William J. Burns (Under Secretary for Political Affairs - a top US State Department official), said that the goal of the US in it's Middle East negotiations is to pressure Israel to expel Jews from Judea and Samaria in order to "end the 'occupation' that began in 1967!"

He went on to further indict Israel: "Our goal in the region is clear, two states living side by side in peace... an independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory that ends the 'occupation' that began in 1967, that ends the daily humiliations of Palestinians under 'occupation,' and that realizes the full and remarkable potential of the Palestinian people."

Clearly, with this biased message, the US State Department is not serving as an "honest broker." The Under Secretary's remarks came barely 24 hours after you met at the White House with President Obama for talks grudgingly scheduled for you.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, I feel that our US government, including our President and our State Department, should reinforce your peaceful message by providing a neutral viewpoint in their Middle East policy. They must understand that Israel cannot risk another Gaza-Hamas terrorist takeover within their borders as a result of new negotiations.

I congratulate you on your masterful presentation. Your overview will help to encourage and galvanize millions of pro-Israel American Christians and Jews who stand staunchly with Israel and with you.

We know that Israel, under your vigil, will continue her mission to serve as a "light unto the nations." May G-d give you strength to continue your successful leadership and to bring to fruition the elements you so eloquently expressed on November 9th.

With respect and appreciation,

Esther Levens, CEO and Founder, Unity Coalition for Israel

Let's thank the New York Mets who have stood up for us

Dear Friends of Israel,

You have a perfect opportunity to show your support of Israel, support
for the Jewish people, and to thank the New York Mets (sounds strange,
but it's true!) for standing up against intimidation by defamers of
Israel, posing as "civil and human rights" activists.

Left-wing internet activists have whipped up their followers to
barrage the Mets players and leaders with demands that they cancel a
pro-Israel event to be held at Citi Field on November 21st. That
union of haters includes those who actively encourage boycotts of and
divestment from Israel, ardent supporters of Yasir Arafat, and public
figures who claimed Jewish "money" pushed the US into the war in Iraq.

BUT THE METS HAVE STOOD UP TO THOSE THREATS! Let's send them letters
thanking them, let's show that we won't be intimidated and let'sgo to
the event affirming our ties to and support for Hebron, and let's
share this information with everyone we know!

Lets write the Mets---

Thank you for rejecting the request of hate-monger

organizations to cancel the fundraiser for the Jewish Community of Hebron.

By standing with the Hebron Fund you are standing with the Jewish
community at large.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate and hitting a home run for
freedom and liberty!

Thanks for helping Israel.

Journalism which Cultivates Hatred of Israel and Israelis

Journalism which Cultivates Hatred of Israel and Israelis

Hatred -- of any group -- does not drop out of the sky like rain. It is cultivated. Sadly, it has become necessary to ask the JTA (the news agency which supplies most American Jewish newspapers) not to inadvertently cultivate hate -- in particular, not to falsely accuse Israeli settlers of criminal deeds. This is important because unfounded hatred of settlers causes much of the unfounded hatred of Israel.

Here's an example letter that you can send (or write your own...):

Dear Jewish Telegraph Agency, Your website  http://jta.org/about  states that the JTA strives to be "the definitive, trusted global source of ...current events". But this past year you printed a series of 3 one-sidedly derogatory articles against settlers which does not fit this description.

It is my understanding that an Israeli grassroots organization, Mattot Arim www.mattotarim.orghas approached you several times regarding the most distasteful "fact" presented in your series:  "[R]adical settlers ...have ...thrown acid at Israeli soldiers" http://jta.org/news/article/2009/06/24/1005829/behind-the-headlines-radical-jewish-settlers. I understand that Mattot Arim told you they have carefully looked into this matter with settler leaders such as the spokesperson of the Jewish Community of Hebron, where the event allegly occurred, the Shomron Council spokesperson, Women in Green founder Nadia Matar, Gush Katif spokesperson and others and all believe that the allegation you published is not factual, i.e. not a single settler is known to have thrown acid at even a single soldier.

I also understand that you (the JTA) have claimed that an un-named Israel Police spokesperson made this allegation to you and you merely reported it. Could you, the JTA, take responsibility for your story and write to the Israel Police, inform them that the information they gave you has been challenged by concerned readers such as myself and ask them to corroborate their allegation by providing the JTA in writing some elementary details regarding their allegation (copy of the chemical analysis performed if any, who (names, dates) purportedly witnessed these events, were any soldiers purportedly injured and if so where are the medical reports, etc.). I would be pleased to receive a copy of the Israel Police spokesperson's response to you in due course.

Or, since we are in Yom Kippur season -- the traditional Jewish apology season -- could you simply publish a correction and apology indicating that (1) your acid story was challenged; (2) you have not found any facts to support it and (3) your acid story is therefore  retracted until further notice. I look forward to hearing from you, sincerely, (NAME)."

Please email the above (or write your own!) to uheilman@jta.org, to  info@JTA.org, and to Gary Rosenblatt gary@jewishweek.org who is on the JTA's board of directors. If you know anyone  else  on the board, http://jta.org/about/board, please cc them. And please cc us4israel@gmail.com  so that the necessary parliamentary action in Israel can be arranged regarding the partial role of an Israeli Police spokesperson alleged by the JTA. Finally, if you get a response from the JTA, please fw it to us4israel@gmail.com immediately. Thank you very much.

Please pass this on, particularly to Jewish leaders and Jewish (or pro-Israel) news media so that the JTA does not, in future, poison attitudes toward Israel and its citizens by careless journalism. Please note: No libel suit can be filed because the JTA article merely accused un-named "settlers" of throwing the acid at the soldiers. The JTA has avoided mentioning the name of any settler hence it cannot be prosecuted. However, the JTA very much cares about its reputation (even more than it cares about a legal proceeding) in the eyes of the public, so please -- contact them, explain that you are not happy, and ask your friends to do likewise. Thanks for helping Israel.
