Shocking: Bye Bye London- no future for Jews in England

With that backdrop, kudos to all those who wrote and persuaded the Chief Rabbi of England to take a very important, firm and principled stance regarding the anti-Semitic cartoon about Israel's PM Netanyahu:

Also, please read Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors on new appointments of great concern in the USA:

Dear Friend of Truth,

We cannot afford to leave our government on auto-pilot. Left to their own devices, without the oversight of an informed and active citizenry, our "representatives" have taken care only of themselves, their own interests and personal political ambitions. The more corrupt they have become, the more dismissive they are of their constituents whom they are meant to serve.

Thus, the confirmation of John Kerry yesterday as Secretary of State. Of the 45 Republicans in the Senate, only three senators opposed Kerry's confirmation as Secretary of State: Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz of Texas. Two senators were absent: Patty Murray, Democrat from Washington and John Hoeven, Republican from North Dakota.

The will of the people is being flagrantly ignored not only by government officials, but by a co-opted and compliant media. In what we thought was a free country where we enjoy a free press, media personalities have become celebrities who compete for access to power instead of the scoop that would expose the truth.

If we are to have any influence at all over the direction the United States is taking, we must stop being the passive sheep to which everyone is accustomed and become actively involved in directing our own fate. We all know there is no consensus where the media tells us there is. We all know that civil disagreement abounds in a free society, however much the media may cast dissent as ignorance or radicalism. We all know that evil met halfway is still evil, no matter how hard the politicians and their support staff in the media try to convince us otherwise.

President Obama appointed three men - Chuck Hagel, John Brennan and John Kerry - to run the government departments that protect U.S. national security, who share a dangerous belief that the exercise of U.S. power in the world is a greater threat to peace than the murderous ideologies arrayed against us and our allies.

Chuck Hagel, John Brennan, and John Kerry:

  • Have appeased Islamic terrorism and extremism

  • Have supported the butcher of Syria, Bashar al-Assad and the leader of the terrorism-supporting Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Morsi

  • Have supported the weakening of the U.S. military and American influence around the world

  • Believe the U.S. should have stronger ties to the Islamic world and a more distant relationship with Israel

  • Expressed a desire to drastically defund and shrink the military and to cut American nuclear weapons drastically reducing America as a superpower - a position that has kept relative peace in Europe and America

The inevitable result of their worldview will be a nuclear Iran, which will destabilize the world, threaten our economy and launch a new Cold War, if we're lucky. "History will not forgive those who allow Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons," Benjamin Netanyahu warned, "This was, and remains, the main mission facing not only myself and Israel, but the entire world."

Already we have seen the result of President Obama's policy of working with Islamic extremists. Terrorists sacked the U.S. consulate in Libya and murdered our ambassador, and terrorists in Algeria brazenly seized American hostages. With John Kerry, John Brennan and Chuck Hagel in charge of U.S. national security, we will see more of this, and worse.

It's up to us to tell the world that we are not resigned to a weaker U.S. military, a stronger Muslim Brotherhood, a smaller Israel and a nuclear Iran.

Call the United States Senate and demand the rejection Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. Tell your senator that you don't want U.S. national security to be endangered by a policy of engaging with terrorists. We, the People, can prevail against the appointments of Hagel and Brennan and send a strong message to President Obama that we are  alarmed by direction he is heading on foreign policy; that he will get pushback from the people he serves; and that he needs to consider America's best interest in his nominations for these posts.

Find your senators here.  Call or fax NOW. Make sure your senators know you're a constituent and a voter -- provide your name, address and phone number. Urge them to VOTE NO on the Hagel for Secretary for Secretary of Defense and VOTE NO on John Brennan as Director of the CIA.

Tell your senators that, "Americans are counting on you!

Forward this e-mail to your family, friends and colleagues and urge them to make their voices heard.

I believe it is a risk to U.S. national security to allow any of these nominations to succeed. We lost on Kerry. Let us not lose on Hagel and Brennan who would be in even stronger positions to cut deals with terrorists weakening America, weakening our military, and making a staunch U.S. ally even more vulnerable to attack.

You and I know that tyrants and terrorists can never be negotiating partners of free nations, and we know what it means when government officials blame the Jews.

We know how it ends.

Some organizations pull their punches and worry about offending certain groups.

We don't.

We are fighting anti-Americanism, anti-Zionism, and Jew-hatred. We are fighting for a safe, secure, free country. We are fighting with everything we've got.

Join us in this fight. Call your senators. Forward this e-mail to your friends. Help us to spread the word that the dangers we face cannot be ignored or wished away. Your donation of $25, $50, $75, $100, $250 or whatever you can afford will be a force multiplier in our battle to get the truth out.

The president's power in foreign policy is nearly unlimited, and the damage that can be done is terrible to contemplate. We cannot be complacent. We cannot be silent.  And we refuse to be censored.

Sincerely,

Doris Wise Montrose

Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors

P.S. One-third of the U.S. Senate is up for re-election in 2014. If one of your senators is on the list below, be sure to tell them you are watching their votes on Kerry, Hagel and Brennan. Tell them you don't want the U.S. to engage with terrorists.   Be sure to thank Senators Inhofe, Cornyn and Cruz for stepping up on Kerry.

Rabbi Sacks, what do you think of the new and shocking anti-Semitic caricature?

Read CAMERA below about a new and shocking anti-Semitic caricature in a leading, mainstream British newspaper!
The British caricature shows Israel's newly elected prime-minister Netanyahu using Palestinian blood for cement, and crushing Palestinians' live bodies,  in building activities.
The British newspaper, the Sunday Times, is insisting there is nothing wrong with the caricature.

Do the logical thing: contact the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, and ask:
Dear Rabbi Sacks, As the head of the British Jewish community, what have you done to combat the new and shocking anti-Semitic caricature in a leading, mainstream British newspaper!

Background: Rabbi Sacks is a fairly radical pro-Palestinian himself.
He once even had the audacity to state that Israel's stance towards Palestinians is "incompatible with Judaism": http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2218571.stm

However, Rabbi Sacks  is a public figure, so it is his job to protect Israel whatever his own personal political positions may be.
Please contact him therefore.
Contact information for Rabbi Sacks: info@chiefrabbi.org   or telephone info here: http://www.chiefrabbi.org/contact-us/

Please send a copy of your email to Israel's Diaspora Affairs minister, Yuli Edelstein, to show the Government of Israel that you are working for Israel: yedelstein@knesset.gov.il

Thanks for helping Israel.

Attention CAMERA E-Mail Team:

January 27 was International Holocaust Remembrance Day. That same day, The Sunday Times of London published an editorial cartoon showing a hook-nosed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu building a wall on the bodies of Palestinians and using their blood as mortar.

Michael A. Salberg, International Affairs Director of the Anti-Defamation League described the cartoon as having "a blatantly anti-Semitic theme and motif which is a modern day evocation of the ancient 'blood libel' charge leveled at Jews."

"This cartoon would be offensive at any time of the year, but to publish it on International Holocaust Remembrance Day is sickening and expresses a deeply troubling mindset," said European Jewish Congress President Dr. Moshe Kantor. "This insensitivity demands an immediate apology from both the cartoonist and the paper's editors."

In answer to this and other criticism, a spokesperson for The Sunday Times said, "This is a typically robust cartoon by Gerald Scarfe. The Sunday Times firmly believes that it is not anti-Semitic. It is aimed squarely at Mr. Netanyahu and his policies, not at Israel, let alone at Jewish people."

In The Commentator, Raheem Kassam described the cartoon as "not simply treading the fine line between criticism and blood libel, but indeed spitting all over it, leaving it for dust, and careering head first into anti-Semitismsville." He continued:

I would never have thought the editors of the Sunday Times were in amongst those who would seek, in true Der Sturmer fashion, to use Holocaust Memorial Day to publish a blood libel, and knowingly undermine the memory of one of the worst genocides ever…. I guess I was wrong on that count.
Just so. Flowing blood, hook-nosed Jews and their innocent victims feature in both the Sunday Times cartoon and this one from Der Stürmer. It was published in 1934, before the fires of the Holocaust burned their hottest and certainly fueling them.

It is perverse that an image like the Scarfe cartoon pollutes the pages of a mainstream news outlet, using the same imagery as Nazi propaganda, on Holocaust Remembrance Day. And it is beneath contempt for editors to deny the hatefulness of this imagery.

Adam Levick of CiF Watch, an independent project of CAMERA, posted this entry about the cartoon:

How one British paper decided to depict living Jews on Holocaust Memorial Day

In my 2010 report published by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs about antisemitic cartoons, I noted that political cartoons often have more of an immediate impact in reinforcing negative stereotypes than a lengthy essay.  They express ideas which are easy to understand, and thus represent an efficient way to transmit hate and prejudices, including antisemitism.

While the largest output of antisemitic cartoons nowadays comes from the Arab and Muslim world, some "respectable" European papers have published graphic depictions of Jews evoking classic Judeophobic stereotypes.

Some of the core motifs of antisemitic cartoons are Jews as absolute evil; imagery equating Israel with Nazi Germany; Jewish conspiracies; Zionists controlling the world; and variations of the blood libel.

While mainstream Western papers avoid explicitly promoting the blood libel, variations of this theme – suggesting in cartoon and in prose that bloodthirsty Israeli Jews intentionally kill innocently Palestinians (often children) – have been published at popular sites.  For instance, one of the most popular news sites in the Anglo world, The Huffington Post, posted a cartoon in 2012 by notorious antisemitic cartoonist, Carlos Latuff, which clearly conveyed the idea that the Israeli Prime Minister was murdering Palestinian babies to gain votes in the upcoming election, suggesting that baby killing was supported by the Israeli public.

A similar motif of infanticide appeared in a 2003 cartoon by Dave Brown in the progressive British daily The Independent. The cartoon shows Sharon eating the head of a Palestinian baby and saying, "What's wrong? Have you never seen a politician kissing a baby? It won Britain's 2003 Political Cartoon of the Year Award.

The following cartoon was published at The Sunday Times (the largest-selling 'serious' British national Sunday newspaper) today, Jan. 27, International Holocaust Memorial Day.
In case you didn't notice, the text reads 'Will Cementing Peace Continue?', an apparent allusion to Israeli construction across the green line.

However, the Sunday Times cartoonist decided to depict such building as not only injurious to peace, but (as the bloody, mangled bodies being buried over with cement, laid by the bloody trowel of a sinister Israeli Prime Minister) as a sadistic act of violence against innocents in order to gain votes in the Israeli election.

In light of the Sunday Times' decision to publish a cartoon on Holocaust Memorial Day depicting a blood-lusting Jewish leader, as well as recent comments by British MP David Ward suggesting that, on Holocaust Memorial Day, Jews should learn to stop "inflicting atrocities on Palestinians", as well as other routine debasements of Holocaust memory, here's a simple, if counter-intuitive request to those who believe that the Holocaust means anything at all:

Spare us your Holocaust pieties, your monuments, your memorials, museums and days of remembrance, and consider that, instead of honoring Jews murdered over 65 years ago, you may want to begin, instead, to honor Jews who are still among us.

There are many ways to show reverence for a tiny minority which has somehow survived despite the best efforts, past and present, of practitioners of homicidal antisemitism. However, the especially morally righteous among you may wish to gain a basic understanding of the precise manner in which Jews have been caricatured, vilified, demonized and dehumanized prior to pogroms, massacres and genocides, studiously avoid advancing narratives or creating graphic depictions which evoke such antisemitic imagery, and righteously condemn those who do so.

You cannot undo the horrors inflicted upon six million souls, but you can live your life with a steely determination to never again allow lethal, racist narratives about living Jews to go unchallenged, and to assiduously fight efforts to reintroduce such toxic calumnies into the "respectable" public discourse.

With thanks,

Mainstreaming annexation
By JOSH HASTEN, The Jerusalem Post
January 15, 2013

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In 2011, Women in Green... hosted a
conference to discuss applying full Israeli sovereignty over Judea and
Samaria...  In total there were just over 200
participants...However, on January 1 of this year, the third annual Women in Green
conference on the "Application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and
Samaria," drew over 1,000 diverse attendees, from college students,
journalists and bloggers to veteran activists and pensioners, and was
held in a jam-packed, standing room-only Jerusalem hall, featuring
some of most influential government leaders and policy makers in
Israel today.  To put it simply...today the concept of establishing
Jewish sovereignty over all of the land from the River to the Sea
has grown into an entire movement.

GOOD INITIATIVE: Take Action Now to condemn Palestinian unilateral action at UN

Distributed by: Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors
Subject: Take Action Now! To condemn Palestinian unilateral action at U.N.

Take Action Now!

Condemn Palestinian unilateral action at U.N.

The Palestinian decision to go to the UN was a violation of the Oslo Accords and an expansion of efforts to attack, isolate, and delegitimize Israel.

House members are being asked to sign a Congressional letter calling on President Obama to send a clear message to Mahmoud Abbas and the PLO for going to the UN. The letter is being circulated by Reps. Ros-Lehtinen(R-FL), Berman (D-CA), Royce (R-CA), and Engel (D-NY).

Tell your Representative to sign the Ros-Lehtinen/Berman/Engel/Royce letter.

The letter calls on President Obama to send a clear message and to respond strongly to this action by closing the PLO office in the U.S. and withdrawing the U.S. Consul General from Jerusalem. This will show the international community that the US will stand by its ally, Israel and that such actions have consequences.
We call on President Obama to reaffirm our commitment to maintaining and enforcing U.S. Laws that require withholding U.S. contributions from any international forum that grants membership to the PLO.

Tell your Representative: now is the time to support our ally, and take these actions.

The letter also calls for a continuation of the policy blocking all U.S. funding for any UN agency or international forum that grants the Palestinians membership.

Tell your Representative: support U.S. interests by supporting Israel

This letter comes at a time when the Netanyahu government announced the approval of housing construction for its citizens on Israeli land. While the international community is silent in the face of the ongoing slaughter of tens of thousands of citizens in Syria by the Assad government, it jumps to condemn Israel. The lack of any clear and firm response by the United States to both the world condemnation of Israel and the real, actual threats facing the Middle East will only make the world a more dangerous place for all of us.

Dear Representative _____________:
SUBJECT: Please sign the Ros-Lehtinen/Berman/Engel/Royce letter
I write to urge you to sign the letter to President Obama being circulated by Reps. Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Berman (D-CA). Royce (R-CA) and Engel (D-NY) imploring the Administration to take appropriate measures in response to recent actions by the Palestine Liberation Organization ("PLO") that were hostile to Israel and detrimental to peace in the Middle East.
In recent weeks the PLO has engaged in outrageous conduct, including applying to the United Nations General Assembly for non-member observer status in defiance of U.S. policy and seeking reconciliation with the murderous Hamas regime, which is classified as a terrorist organization under American and international law. The PLO continues to incite hatred and violence against Israel and Jews worldwide in its schools, media and mosques. It names schools, streets and sports teams after suicide bombers. It continues to finance terrorists who have murdered and maimed Israelis and Americans. The sad and unavoidable truth is that neither the PLO nor its President, Mahmoud Abbas, is "moderate" and a partner for peace with Israel.
It is long past time to forgo wishful thinking. There must be consequences for the PLO's continuing war against Israel and defiance of U.S. policy. The Administrations should shutter the PLO office in Washington, D.C., summon home the Consul General in Jerusalem who otherwise assists the PLO, and cease all funding of the PLO. The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund a terrorist organization like the PLO.

Fw: Let’s embrace our friends By CAROLINE B. GLICK

Let's embrace our friends
By CAROLINE B. GLICK, The Jerusalem Post
May 18, 2012 (SHORTENED VERSION)
In recent years, poll after poll has shown that a majority of Israelis
do not believe that two-state paradigm will bring peace.

Two weeks ago, US Congressman Joe Walsh published an op-ed in the The
Washington Times in which he called for the US and Israel to abandon
the two-state solution.

After running through the record of Palestinian duplicity, failed
governance, terrorism and bad faith, he called for Israel to apply its
sovereignty to Judea and Samaria. (...)

The evidence that the two-state paradigm has failed is overwhelming.
The Palestinians' decision to reject statehood at Camp David in 2000
and launch a terror war against Israel made clear that they had not
abandoned their refusal from 1947 to accept partition of the Land of
Israel with the Jews.

So, too, the Palestinians' election of Hamas in the 2006 elections,
and their missile war against Israel from Gaza in the aftermath of
Israel's complete withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, all made clear that
they are not interested in a Palestinian state. Rather, their chief
desire is Israel's annihilation.

Consequentially, there is no chance whatsoever that the two state
paradigm can work.

(...)
FOR HIS unstinting support for Israel, Walsh has been subject to an
unbridled assault by leftist American Jews. Ron Kampeas from JTA, for
instance, attacked Walsh, accusing him of being no different than
Israel's enemies....
Kampeas quoted Robert Wright's
excoriation of Walsh in The Atlantic. There Wright wrote, "Offhand,
I don't recall a member of Congress in
my lifetime saying anything so grotesquely at odds with American
ideals about ethnic relations and for that matter basic human rights."

For its part, the Jewish-run anti-Israel lobby J Street is mobilizing
its supporters to bring about Walsh's defeat in the November elections
by soliciting contributions to his Democratic challenger. J Street
executive director Jeremy Ben-Ami wrote that "Walsh's prescription
amounts to a call for an end to Israel as the democratic home of the
Jewish people."

It is hard to know where to begin a discussion of this assault in
which Jewish Americans attacked one of Israel's strongest supporters
simply because he had the temerity to recognize reality and call for
the US to support an Israeli victory against our enemies who seek our
destruction.

First, it is important to consider the claim that Walsh went against
the grain of American ideals by suggesting, "Those Palestinians who
wish to may leave their Fatah- and Hamas-created slums and move to the
original Palestinian state: Jordan. The British Mandate for Palestine
created Jordan as the country for the Palestinians. That is the only
justification for its creation. Even now, 75% of its population is of
Palestinian descent."

The fact of the matter is that the two-state paradigm rests on the
assumption that the Palestinian state will be ethnically cleansed of
Jews before it is established. Whereas Walsh somehow stands in
opposition to American ideals for suggesting that the Palestinians may
voluntarily immigrate to Jordan, Kampeas, Ben- Ami and their cohorts
have no problem with the concept of a Jew-free Palestine and the
forcible expulsion of up to 675,000 Jews from their homes in Judea,
Samaria and eastern Jerusalem simply because they are Jewish.

(...)
PART OF this problem is their apparent unquestioning acceptance of the
myth of a demographic time bomb. They seem not to have noticed that
the Palestinian claim that by 2015 there will be an Arab majority west
of the Jordan River is a complete fabrication.

The truth is that if Israel applied its laws to Judea and Samaria
tomorrow and all the Palestinians in those areas received Israeli
citizenship, Israel would still retain a two-thirds Jewish majority.
Moreover, all the demographic trends for Israel, including increasing
birthrates and positive immigration rates, are positive. And all the
demographic trends for the Palestinians, including decreasing
birthrates and negative immigration rates, are negative. According to
Israeli demographic researcher Yoram Ettinger, by 2030, Jewish will
likely comprise 80% of the population of Israel, Judea and Samaria.

So Ben-Ami's argument that Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria
means the end of Israeli democracy is simply incorrect.

But aside from their hypocrisy and refusal to accept simple arithmetic
realities, what stands out most clearly in these leftist American
Jews' assault on Walsh is how they have become addicted to the fable
of the two-state solution.

(...) The beauty of the two-state fable is that it puts the onus to make
peace on Israel's shoulders.

If it is true that the Palestinians want to make peace, then Israel
must make peace. And if all the Palestinians require to make peace is
for Israel to quit Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, then that is what
Israel must do, together with the 675,000 Jews who live there.

(...)
People like Kampeas are the first to bemoan Israel's sorry state in
the realm of public diplomacy. They decry Israel's hasbara efforts as
pathetic and failed. But what they fail to acknowledge is that it is
the two-state trap that makes the construction and execution of an
effective public diplomacy strategy impossible.

To maintain faith with this failed policy, Israel's leaders and
representatives are not merely required to ignore the history of the
past 90 years of Palestinian rejection and aggression.
They are required to ignore current events.

They are forced to ignore not just what happened in 1947, but what
happened at 7 o'clock in the morning.

(...) Happily, not everyone in Israel remains paralyzed. Members of Knesset
have launched repeated attempts in recent months to debate legislation
calling for Israel to apply its sovereignty over all or parts of Judea
and Samaria. Next Wednesday, MK Miri Regev is holding a conference to
launch a new Knesset caucus calling for the adoption of this policy.

IN RECENT years, poll after poll has shown that the majority of
Israelis do not believe that the two-state paradigm will bring peace
or that if a Palestinian state is formed, it will live at peace with
Israel.

(...) Walsh and the 44 congressmen who co-sponsored his resolution are
Israel's friends. We should take heart in their willingness to buck
consensus and support us. And we should give careful and responsible
consideration to their reasonable and supportive policy
recommendations.
